It's been awhile, hasn't it? School let out and I've been with the ponies everyday. Sometimes I feel like Velvet Brown and say "Horses, horses, horses" with a dreamy look in my eyes. Sometimes I feel like curling up in a hamock, falling asleep and having someone just dig a big hole beneath me and lower me down.
This must be what parenthood is like. SOOOOO much work and heartache but you wouldn't trade it for the world.
I went to eventing camp in Sheridan, IN last week. Stacy and I drove up together (it took FOREVER! Stacy drives like a grandmother and I followed her). After 6 or so hours, we ended up in corn country. It reminded me even more of those sticky summers we spent visiting my mom's parent's homestead in Sherwood, OH. Corn, soybeans and sulfur water.
I had a dressage and cross country lesson with Peter Adkins, a pace and steeplechase lesson with Dorothy Crowell and a show jumping lesson with Lauren Kiefer.
Stacy took a video of a couple of my lesson and you can see it here:
