Flo's dressage test, our FIRST training level test (and actually the first time we EVER rode this test due to the new test confusion) was great! I forgot where I was going at one point and my 15 meter circles were'nt exactly 15 meters (not used to those yet!), but other than that, Flo was a star!! We scored a 33.6. OH! and I finally got an 8 for my rider collective mark, whoo hooo!
Our stadium round...that's a different story. It was...eventful. A learning experience to be sure. I stuffed her to the base of #3, almost fell off, big man pushed me back into the saddle after lots of hoots and hollars from my peanut gallery to "hang on" and "get back up there," then Flo stopped at #5b over and over, trainer ran into arena and yelled at me to "KICK HER!" and when I growled and finally DID kick her, the rest of the course was great!
She stopped at some things XC schooling her on Sunday. But, for the most part I think she's coming along. Amy kept telling me to "ride with my feet." I just need to remember not to let my nerves and my body take away from her forward energy and to stay active with my legs and feet to keep telling her to stay going forward. Will do, coach!
Below is a picture of one of the Budweiser Clydesdales that was staying at Poplar for the weekend. So amazing.
