I spent my Mother's Day moving my "children" to the Waltrips. River had to switch pastures and needed buddies and my mares needed green grass...so there you go! Since sharing a pasture, they have all fallen in love with River and are completely obsessed with each other and can't stand being apart. Kind of annoying for the girl who has to ride them one at a time.
The bruise, which has since turned darker and more green, was given to me by our boy River. Although in the moment I wasn't too pleased with him, looking back I can hardly blame him. I had to move jumps around, the mowers had moved them, so I would be ready for a jump school the following day. I was carrying a jump standard with two hands with the reins around my right elbow wishing I was actually a SOMEBODY so I could have a skinny teenager to be my working student and do all this stupid grunt work for me in the scorching post-flood humitity...when out of nowhere River pulled back and rammed the standard into my thigh. Needless to say, I doubled over with pain, heat exhaustion and general anger. I've since recovered and have a preety cool bruise to show off!
