The first picture is of the horses across the creek. I originally took it to prove that Pom Pom has actually crossed the creek and will willingly walk across water! Alas, I post the picture here to show the horses scheming their escape out the gate for an hour long gallop around the neighborhood as I try frantically to catch them. Mia, always the instigator, led the herd through the gate as I was trying to pull the trailer through on the way to pick the ponies up for the show. Already in a hurry, I was not happy. I just pulled their rugs off, it was the warmest day all winter and they were ready to explore ! I hardly blame them, but I was seriously irritated. I finally caught them with a spare halter and two hay nets that were in the trailer. I had already worked out that morning and showered and then spend another hour running around a 20 acre field trying to pin them into a corner. Bah!
Onto the show...the girls did a FABULOUS job riding their ponies in the walk/trot classes. They were especially nervous about the walk/trot over poles classes, but they got in there and gave it their best shot! Annie gave Junior the show name "Party Balloons" and Mia gave Olive the show name "Sassy Pants." The names were a hit! They made everyone laugh and cheer them on! The girls put in the elbow grease on Friday to make the ponies gleam on Saturday. The ahow organizer and her daughter were very nice and allowed me to do the coaching I needed from the sidelines and in the arena. We learned a lot about our ponies and ourselves and can't wait to go to the next show!
